“In memory of
John Morton 1940-2007”
For the first time in 14 ½ years, Huddleston Crane Service will be standing down during a normal workday. Huddleston Crane employees as well as family and friends will gather together in observance of the passing of
Mr. Morton, Wednesday
March 7th, 2007.
John Mahlan Morton was born in Taft, CA on February 8, 1940 to parents,
Samuel Mahlan Morton and Belva Imogene Morton. John grew up and went to
school in Taft all the way through college. John worked for his father's
oilfield contracting business. Upon his father's retirement, John and his
brother, Robert Morton, split their father's business and each went out on
their own. John moved his family to Visalia and tried his hand at farming
for three years before moving back to Taft so his son could attend Taft High
School. John purchased Huddleston Crane Service which he ran for ten years
before turning it over to his son, David Morton and son-in-law, Dave Noerr.
