“In memory of John Morton 1940-2007”

For the first time in 14 ½ years, Huddleston Crane Service will be standing down during a normal workday. Huddleston Crane employees as well as family and friends will gather together in observance of the passing of Mr. Morton, Wednesday March 7th, 2007.

John Mahlan Morton was born in Taft, CA on February 8, 1940 to parents, Samuel Mahlan Morton and Belva Imogene Morton. John grew up and went to school in Taft all the way through college. John worked for his father's oilfield contracting business. Upon his father's retirement, John and his brother, Robert Morton, split their father's business and each went out on their own. John moved his family to Visalia and tried his hand at farming for three years before moving back to Taft so his son could attend Taft High School. John purchased Huddleston Crane Service which he ran for ten years before turning it over to his son, David Morton and son-in-law, Dave Noerr.

John raised his family with a strong work ethic and a love for hunting and the outdoors. Hunting, fishing and traveling with family and friends were the second most important things in his life. First and foremost was his wife of 45 years, Eula Morton and watching and being a part...
